The green Tara appears as a young, beautiful virgin. Her body is green in color. She has one face and two arms, wears a crown covered with five Buddha images. She sits on the lotus throne in Lalita pose in half a lotus. Her left hand shows the gesture of the refuge vows and the right hand shows the varada mudra as she quickly answers the requests of those who seek her help.
Tara is known as the great liberator from eight kinds of danger or fears. The cultivation of Tara Sadhana will eliminate all demonic and karmic obstacles, destroy afflictions and prolong one's lifespan.
