Our female artists in Kathmandu Nepal have handcrafted these Buddhist prayer flags. The cotton fabric is printed with the deities and the corresponding mantras are cut into suitable sizes after drying.

Prayer flags are colorful flags commonly used in Buddhist cultures, particularly in Tibet and Nepal. These flags are used as symbols of good luck, peace, compassion and wisdom. The flags are made of cloth and are printed with prayers, mantras, images of Buddhas and other sacred symbols.

Traditionally, prayer flags are hung in sacred places such as mountains, temples and monasteries, as well as in homes and gardens. The flags are exposed to the elements, such as wind and rain, and the prayers printed on them are believed to be spread by the wind, spreading peace and prosperity to the world.

Each color of the prayer flags has its own meaning. Blue symbolizes the sky, white represents water, red represents fire, green represents wind and yellow represents earth. Hanging prayer flags is often considered a spiritual practice that can aid in meditation, reflection, and the cultivation of peace and well-being.
